"High Meadow Elk " completed September, 2007
This lovely 8’ x 8’ mural was mounted on the Post Office in the tiny town of Smith River, just north of Crescent City. This mural may not be very large, but the detail is impressive with eyes so realistic the elk seem alive. The original painting on canvas won first place at the 2007 County Fair. Smith River is known for its elk, salmon fishing and Easter lily fields.

"The Return of the Yurok" completed October, 2006
This 8' x 40 mural is located on the S-turn of Hwy 101 in Crescent City, California. Funded by local merchants, Ralph Murphy and Mary Weir, it was painted in tribute to the commercial fishermen of Crescent City. The mural features The Yurok joyfully returning with a successful crab catch that overflows the lower hold and spills out onto the deck. All boats in the mural were done from photographs of actual, existing local boats. With the crab and salmon fishing drastically reduced every year, these boats will eventually disappear.
"Mermaid and the Orca" completed July, 2006
This 8’ x 8’ mural is located on the S-turn of Hwy 101 and Front Street in Crescent City, California. It was painted to compliment The Emporium costume shop inside the building at that location. The mural features a beautiful mermaid, her head thrown back in ecstasy, riding the Orca killer whale down through the depths of the kelp forest. Sunlight filters through the waving kelp, highlighting the dancing leaves, the mermaid’s hair and the jeweled scales of her tail.

"Redwood Elk" completed December, 2006
Donated to the Crescent City library during Christmas, 2006, this 6’ x 4’ mural illustrates a scene that is familiar to everyone who lives on the north coast. Bull Roosevelt elk browsing in the lush vegetation is a common sight to Crescent City residents. In addition to the elk and giant redwoods, the mural also features the beauty of ferns and rhododendrons so typical of the Northern California area.

"Remax's Aleutian Geese" completed March, 2007
Remax's Aleutian Geese mural is located on 9th Street in Crescent City. This mural has generated much controversy since its creation in March because it violated a city ordinance which states that a mural cannot contain advertising.
The local residents loved the mural, but ReMax recently lost their final appeal. City Council ordered the balloon and advertising to be removed, which left the mural in a partial state of destruction. Remax has decided to replace the balloon with a historical mural of Crescent City circa 1900.

"Pacific White Sided Dolphin" completed June, 2007
.Located at 135 Leif Circle (across from the hospital) in Crescent City, this is an 8' x 8' mural of a Pacific White Sided dolphin with Castle Rock in the background. Indigenous to the Crescent City area, the Pacific White Sided dolphin differs from the Bottlenose dolphin in color and shape of the head. The beautiful green-blue color of the ocean on a sunny day makes this mural a real eye catching piece.
